'''160 Una''' is a fairly large and dark, primitive [[Asteroid belt|Main belt]] [[asteroid]] that was discovered by German-American astronomer [[Christian Heinrich Friedrich Peters|C. H. F. Peters]] on February 20, 1876, in [[Clinton, Oneida County, New York|Clinton, New York]].<ref name="IAU_MPC"/> It is named after a character in [[Edmund Spenser]]'s epic poem ''[[The Faerie Queene]]'' (1590). This minor planet is orbiting the [[Sun]] at a distance of {{val|2.73|ul=AU}} with an [[orbital eccentricity|eccentricity]] of 0.07. The [[orbital plane]] is inclined at an angle of 3.83° to the [[plane of the ecliptic]].<ref name="JPL"/>
In the [[Tholen classification]] system it is categorized as a [[C-type asteroid|CX-type]], while the Bus [[asteroid taxonomy]] system lists it as an [[X-type asteroid|Xk asteroid]].<ref name="DeMeo2009"/> [[Photometry (astronomy)|Photometric]] observations of this asteroid made at the [[Torino Observatory]] in Italy during 1990–1991 were used to determine a synodic [[rotation period]] of 5.61 ± 0.01 hours.<ref name="diMartino1994"/> It has an estimated diameter of about {{val|81|u=km}}.
