The Lady Lions finished the 2023–24 season 19–12 overall, 14–4 in Southland play to finish tied for second place. With a first round bye, they defeated [[2023-24 Nicholls Colonels women's basketball team|Nicholls]] in the second round of the [[2024 Southland Conference women's basketball tournament|Southland women's tournament]]. Their season ended when they were defeated by [[2023–24 Texas A&M–Corpus Christi Islanders women's basketball team|Texas A&M–Corpus Christi]] in the semi-finals.
