== History ==
Following the 1984 Markounda attack, [[Central African Armed Forces|FACA]] razed Bémaïdé on 4 April 1985 as a punishment for the villagers for supporting [[Ange-Félix Patassé]], [[François Bozizé]], and Alphonse Mbaikoua.<ref>{{cite web |last1=Sangonet |first1=Sangonet |title=Extrait Du Livre Affaires Centrafricaines |url=https://www.yumpu.com/fr/document/view/17400030/extrait-du-livre-affaires-centrafricaines-sangonet |website=yumpu.com |publisher=Sangonet |access-date=10 March 2024}}</ref>
