== History ==
The city of Krasnohrad was founded as a [[Bilevska fortress]] in 1731–1733,<ref name="pereimenuvannya-krasnograda">{{cite web |title=Voting on renaming Krasnograd has started|url=https://www.sq.com.ua/ukr/korisno_znati/30.08.2023/startuvalo-golosuvannya-pro-pereimenuvannya-krasnograda-xarkivskoyi-oblasti|date=30 August 2023|access-date=30 August 2023|language=uk|website=SQ.com}}</ref> as part of the [[Ukrainian line]] defence fortifications, which ran from the [[Dnieper]] to the [[Donets]]. In 1784, the fortress received the name Konstantinograd (Kostyantynohrad) in honour of [[Grand Duke Konstantin Pavlovich of Russia]].<ref name="pereimenuvannya-krasnograda"/> In 1797, it received city status. It is located on the [[Berestova River]] {{convert|101|km|mi}} to the south of the city of Kharkiv. In 2021, about 20,000 people lived in the city.<ref name="pereimenuvannya-krasnograda"/>
