General '''Chung Ho-yong''' ({{korean|정호용|鄭鎬溶}}; born 10 September 1932) is a South Korean politician and [[Republic of Korea Army|army]] general, who was held the positions of [[minister of the interior]] and later [[minister of defense]]. He is considered as one of the best friends of [[Chun Doo-hwan]] and [[Roh Tae-woo]], who both served as [[President of South Korea]].
In January 1996, Chung was tried over his complicity in the brutal suppression of the [[Gwangju Uprising]]. Later that year, he was found guilty of treason. The prosecution requested a life sentence, albeit Chung instead received a 10-year sentence.
