'''Ernest Hammond''' (29 July 1850 &ndash; 31 July 1921) was an English [[cricket]]er.  Hammond was a right-handed [[batting (cricket)|batsman]] who bowled [[Roundarm bowling|roundarm]] right-arm [[Spin bowling|slow]].  He was born at [[Storrington]], [[Sussex]].
Hammond made his [[first-class cricket|first-class]] debut for [[Sussex County Cricket Club|Sussex]] against [[Surrey County Cricket Club|Surrey]] at [[The Oval]] in 1874. He died at the village of his birth on 31 July 1921.  His grandfather [[John Hammond (cricketer)|John Hammond]] and uncle [[Charles Hammond (English cricketer)|Charles Hammond]] both played first-class cricket.
