The company was founded in 1981 as Intercom Data Systems (IDS): it was later renamed royalblue Group plc,<ref>[https://archive.today/20130123100313/http://www.forbes.com/global/2000/1030/0322086a_9.htmlRegards Royalblue Group] Forbes, 2000</ref> and consisted of two separate operating divisions, royalblue Financial and royalblue Technologies. On 20 February 2018, it was announced that [[Temenos Group]] was in advanced talks to purchase Fidessa.
