== History ==
The village was located in the [[Armenian-occupied territories surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh]], coming under the control of ethnic Armenian forces on May 29, 1992 during the [[First Nagorno-Karabakh War]].<ref>[https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2008/jun/07/eu Negotiating a black hole], published in [[The Guardian]]</ref><ref>[http://www.iwpr.net/?p=crs&s=f&o=324193&apc_state=henh Lachin: The Emptying Lands] Institute for War & Peace Reporting</ref> It was briefly recaptured by Azerbaijani forces during [[Operation Goranboy]] in July 1992, the Azerbaijani forces later withdrew during 2–3 April 1993.<ref>https://archive.org/download/LacinYurdu6/lacin%20yurdu-6.pdf Journal of Laçın yurdu.
