With the 1941 enactment of the [[North American Regional Broadcasting Agreement]] (NARBA), KTEM moved to [[1400 AM]]. As listening to Top 40 music switched from AM to FM in the 1980s, KTEM shifted to a mix of [[adult contemporary music]], news, talk and sports.  By the 1990s, the music was eliminated as KTEM switched to all-talk programming.
