The constituency was originally formed for the [[2004 Kazakh legislative election|2004 legislative election]] and existed until being abolished in 2007. The Electoral district No. 1 is situated in the northwestern part of [[Astana]] and includes the city districts of [[Almaty District|Almaty]] and [[Baiqonyr District|Baiqonyr]].
