The '''ninth federal electoral district of Chiapas''' (''Distrito electoral federal 09 de Chiapas'') is one of the [[Federal Electoral Districts of Mexico|300 electoral districts]] into which [[Mexico]] is divided for elections to the federal [[Chamber of Deputies (Mexico)|Chamber of Deputies]] and one of 13 such districts in the [[States of Mexico|state]] of [[Chiapas]].
It elects one deputy to the lower house of [[Congress of Mexico|Congress]] for each three-year legislative session by means of the [[Plurality voting system|first-past-the-post]] system. The ninth district was established as part of the [[L_Legislature_of_the_Mexican_Congress#Main_accomplishments|1977 electoral reforms]]. The districting scheme in force from 1978 to 1996 was the result of the [[L Legislature of the Mexican Congress#Main accomplishments|1977 electoral reforms]], which increased the number of single-member seats in the Chamber of Deputies from 196 to 300.
