==Geography==
The town is located on the border with [[Cerro Largo Department]], on [[Kilometre Zero#Uruguay|Km. 282]] of [[Route 7 (Uruguay)|Route 7]], about {{convert|34|km}} northeast of [[Cerro Chato]] and {{convert|20|km}} southwest of [[Tupambaé]].
==History==
It was founded as "Olimar" by Decree of 7 March 1878.
