Taio borders the following municipalities: [[Coredo]], [[Denno]], [[Nanno]], [[Sanzeno]], [[Tassullo]], [[Ton, Trentino|Ton]], [[Tres, Trentino|Tres]] and [[Vervò]].
Taio included the village of Segno, which is the birthplace of Jesuit missionary [[Eusebio Kino]].
