'''Wet rot''' is a [[generic term]] used to define a [[Paraphyly|variety]] of [[Fungus|fungal]] [[species]], such as ''[[Coniophora puteana]]'' ([[Common name|otherwise known]] as [[cellar fungus]]) and ''[[Choanephora cucurbitarum]]''. Some species obtain their [[food]] by [[decomposition|breaking down]] the [[cell wall]]s of [[wood]], resulting in a loss of its strength.
