The Synod of Dort taking place in 1618 and 1619 in Dordrecht was a significant international meeting of Calvinists, effectively the last council of Reform Protestantism. It entrenched the split with the Arminians, with immediate consequences for Dutch politics, as the more radical Calvinists (Contra-Remonstrants) emerged victorious.
