The Anderson family of Newcastle-upon-Tyne are an English mercantile, municipal and gentry family. The family was founded by the merchant and MP Henry Anderson (1484–1559). Several other members of this family were Mayors, Aldermen, Sheriffs and MPs of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Sheriffs of Northumberland during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
