Želeč is a municipality and village in Tábor District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,000 inhabitants. Želeč lies approximately 11 kilometres (7 mi) south of Tábor, 41 km (25 mi) north of České Budějovice, and 87 km (54 mi) south of Prague.
