The 2016 season is Östersund' 1st season in the top flight of Swedish football and 19th year in existence as a football club.[2] They entered this season as a newly promoted side after finishing second in the 2015 Superettan, and will participate in the Svenska Cupen. The season covers the period from 1 January 2016 to 1 November 2016.
