Sorbus hemsleyi is a species of whitebeam native to central China.[2] It is a small, erect deciduous tree to 4 m (13 ft) in height, with grey-green leaves and white flowers followed by brown fruit. The fruit are a major component of the diet of the yellow-throated marten (Martes flavigula).[3] The cultivar 'John Bond' has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit as an ornamental.[4]
