Reduplication is a linguistic phenomenon in which a word is doubled, e.g. for emphasis or as a plural. This category contains reduplicant words. Reduplicant place names should not be categorized here but added to the List of reduplicated place names, or the separate lists for Australia or New Zealand as appropriate. Reduplicant personal names should not be placed in this category, as this will generally not be a defining characteristic of a person's life; instead, they may be added to List of people with reduplicated names.
