David Goode (organist)
David Goode (born 1971) is a British organist and composer.
Life and career
Goode was a chorister at St Paul's Cathedral, briefly attended Wells Cathedral School, was then a music scholar at Eton College and then organ scholar at King's College, Cambridge 1991–94.[1][better source needed] While there, he studied the organ with David Sanger and Jacques van Oortmerssen. From 1996–2001, he was sub-organist at Christ Church, Oxford. He won prizes at the 1997 St. Alban's Interpretation Competition and at the 1998 Calgary Competition. From 2003 to 2005, he was the organist-in-residence at First Congregational Church in Los Angeles California. He was Organist at Eton College from 2005-2022. In 2021, Goode was suspended from his role at Eton after searching for indecent images of children on a work laptop on 229 separate occasions between March and December of that year.[2] In 2024, Goode was banned from teaching indefinitely by the Teaching Regulation Agency.[3]
