Gregorio Elso Pérez Perdigón[1] (born 16 January 1948 in Maldonado) is a Uruguayan football manager and former player who played as a midfielder. Pérez is widely reputed in his country due for his respectful approach toward the game and general sportsmanship. He is known as "Don Gregorio".
Managerial Career
Gregorio Pérez acted as an assistant manager to Oscar Tabarez during the Uruguayan national football team's 1990 Football World Cup campaign. Pérez acted as a coach for Club Universitario de Deportes in 2020-2021, before retiring due to heart problems in 2024.[2]
