History
Kurtz is an unincorporated community in Jackson County, Indiana. The name of Kurtz was taken from Colonel Harry Kurtz, an attorney for the Evansville & Richmond Railroad who was instrumental in steering the rail lines through Owen and Salt Creek Townships.[citation needed]
