Śāṇavāsa (Śānakavāsin, Sambhūta Śāṇavāsi or Sanakavasa) was a disciple of Ananda, and is considered the fourth Indian Patriarch in Zen Buddhism after Shakyamuni, Mahakashyapa and Ananda.[1]
