† One-game playoff winner

Source:[1][2] Idaho State and Montana tied as co-champions at 11–3 and 19–7 overall,[3] splitting their season series with home wins.[4][5] Without a conference tournament at the time, a one-game playoff between the teams was necessary to determine the representative to the NCAA Tournament; it was played on Tuesday, March 5 at Adams Field House in Missoula, and the visiting ISU Bengals won by three points.[6][7]
