Bryce Alan Boettcher (born July 8, 2002) is an American football linebacker for the Oregon Ducks. He is also a baseball outfielder in the Houston Astros organization.

Early life and high school

Boettcher attended South Eugene High School located in Eugene, Oregon. Coming out of high school, Boettcher was rated as a three-star recruit, where he committed to play college football as a walk-on for the Oregon Ducks.[1][2]

College football career

In Boettcher's first two seasons in 2021 and 2022, he totaled 39 tackles with three being for a loss, a sack, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in 26 games.[3][4] After being selected in the 2024 MLB draft, Boettcher decided to return to play for the Ducks in his final season of eligibility in 2024.[5] In week three of the 2024 season, Boett ten tackles as he helped the Ducks to a win over rival Oregon State.[6]

Baseball career

Boettcher had a breakout season in 2024 where he batted .276 with 12 homer runs, 35 RBIs, and 15 stolen bases, where he also earned a collegiate Gold Glove.[7] After the season, Bottcher was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 13th round of the 2024 MLB draft.[8][9]
