Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult is a German-Polish black metal band from Dormagen.[1] They are considered to be a traditional black metal band,[2] and as such has been interviewed in 2006 by the Franco-German TV network Arte.[3][4] The lead singer is female, which is rare in Black metal. In November 2021, lead singer Onielar revealed she had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer, resulting in the need for her to undergo lifesaving double Mastectomy surgery and chemotherapy. She has since gone on to make a full recovery.

Obviously we are very much influenced by the Norwegian black metal bands. Bands like Gorgoroth, Enslaved, Satyricon, Immortal, Darkthrone. I listened to this music a lot. Most people say our music reminds them of those bands. They think we fit in the vein of old school black metal. Nevertheless, the greatest influence for music is occultism. The "magic" within our thoughts which forms validity in Slaughtercult's music.

Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult, a cult German underground band, is known for its very raw black metal sounds. In short, they are not there for fun. Onielar is the high priestess of this game of musical massacre. She is one of the few women in a generally very masculine world. For Slaughtercult, each concert is a ritual which combines the magic and the occult. On stage, musicians spit real pig blood.
