Koenigia alpina (synonym Aconogonon alpinum),[1] commonly known as alpine knotweed,[2] is similar to Koenigia alaskana, but differs in leaf size and achene characteristics.[3] It is native to Europe and temperate Asia.[1] It is one of the parents of the cultivated hybrid Koenigia × fennica, the other being Koenigia weyrichii.[4][5]
