Malnate is a comune (municipality) in the province of Varese, in the Italian region of Lombardy. It lies in a mountainous region approximately 30 miles (48 km) north of Milan, in the foothills of the Alps near the border between Italy and Switzerland.[1] Curiosities and historical facts about Malnate can be found in the book "La Cava",[2] published by Macchione Editore and released in December every year since 1994.
