Romanian Sovereigntist Bloc (Romanian: Blocul Suveranist Român) is a sovereigntist electoral alliance that was formed to compete in the 2024 Romanian elections.
History
The Bloc's candidate for the 2024 Romanian presidential election is former minister of finance Eugen Teodorovici.[3][4] A November 2023 poll gave the Bloc 8% of the voting intention,[5] while another one from January 2024 gave it 9%.[6] In March 2024, Ilan Laufer's National Identity Force Party left the AUR Alliance and joined the Bloc, with Laufer becoming its chairman.[1] In April 2024, the Independent Social Democratic Party, founded by Marian Vanghelie and led by Leonard Petre, joined the BSR. The Bloc supports Vanghelie's candidacy for mayor of Sector 5.[7]
