The women's 200 metre butterfly competition of the swimming events at the 1983 Pan American Games took place on 22 August.[1] The last Pan American Games champion was Mary T. Meagher of US.[2][3][4][5][6][7] This race consisted of four lengths of the pool, all lengths being in butterfly stroke.[8]
