The men's 200 metre freestyle competition of the swimming events at the 1999 Pan American Games took place on 2 August at the Pan Am Pool.[1] The last Pan American Games champion was Gustavo Borges of Brazil.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8] This race consisted of four lengths of the pool, all in freestyle.[9]
