The women's 800 metre freestyle competition of the swimming events at the 1999 Pan American Games took place on 5 August (preliminaries) and 6 (finals) at the Pan Am Pool.[1] The last Pan American Games champion was Trina Jackson of US.[2][3][4][5][6][7] This race consisted of sixteen lengths of the pool, all in freestyle.[8]
