Turgisio

Turgisio (Latin: Turgisius; Italian: Trogisio, Troisio[1]) was a Norman knight who founded the House of Sanseverino.[2]
Biography
Turgisio was an alleged descendant of Rollo[3] and the House of Normandy.[3][4] Turgisio arrived in Italy in 1045 to serve the army of Robert Guiscard as a knight.[4] He was invested by Robert Guiscard with the county of Rota.[3] He was excommunicated by Pope Alexander II for seizure of archbishopric land.[5] He came to rule over the lands of Bracigliano, Montemiletto, Montoro, a section of Roccapiemonte.[3] Turgisio had the following children:
